2005 - Master / Apprentice - Award from The Memorial Arts Charity, funded by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation. Funding for two years to train as a full time apprentice in the art of letter carving at Charlotte Howarth’s workshop in Norfolk.
2005 - Edward Johnston Foundation Seminar - Awarded by the Edward Johnston Foundation to attend the seminar on lettering at Ditchling, Sussex.
2004 - 5-day letter carving in stone workshop - Awarded by West Midlands Arts Council.
2014 - Masters & Apprentices - The Transfer of Passion – Exhibiton of lettering showing
the works of some of the great letter cutters alongside those who started out as their
apprentices before establishing their own reputations.
2014 - All the Tea and China – Exhibiting work in a tea themed exhibition at Greyfriars Gallery,
2014 - NNEP: Revisited – Exhibiting work previously exhibited as part of the Salthouse 12
in an exhibition organised by NNEP and Cley Windmill.
2013 - 2015 - 26 Words – Exhibition of work produced by lettering artists from Letter Exchange
(www.letterexchange.org.uk) paired with writers from 26 (writers organisation -
www.26.org.uk). The exhibition toured venues in Britain and Belgium
2013 - Landscape and Stone – Artlands exhibition held in Snettisham, Norfolk. Exhibition of
landscapes and stone carvings.

2012 - Salthouse 12 at Cley: Aisles and Air – Work part of an exhibition of contempory art
held in and around Cley church on the North Norfolk coast.
2012 - Art in Action – Held at Waterperry House and gardens, I was part of a group of
letter cutters demonstrating letter carving and representing the Lettering and
Commemorative Arts Trust (formally the Memorial Arts Charity).

1998-99 Weymouth College Diploma in Architectural Stone Masonry, Carving and Letter Cutting. Student of the Year 1999.
2007 - ongoing - Self employed letter cutter/ sculptor and artist.
2005 - 2007 - Apprentice to Charlotte Howarth - Work experience ranging from large-scale public commissions involving public consultation, private commissions as well as developing my own work under guidance.
2001-2004 - Ran a small masonry/carving business in Herefordshire.
1999-2001 - Employed as a stone mason/carver. Worked on Hereford Cathedral and Keble College, Oxford and Woodchester Mansion, Gloucestershire.
